It is 6:30am and I am on an airport tarmac. We are flying to California to spend time with family. I was excited because I knew that American Airlines had launched in flight internet access. As soon as I boarded I pulled out my trustee macpro and launched into my wireless connection. The computer immediately recognized the wifi but the message received was:

Sorry, the Gogo Inflight Internet service is currently down. Please try again later.
It turns out that it is not activated until the plane reaches 10000 feet.
Once the plane was in the air and we reached the 10000 ft level the service kicked in like a charm. This article is being written somewhere in the blue skies right now.
